WASHINGTON, March 11 (UPI) — Apple’s iTunes, App Store and iCloud applications suffered outages on Wednesday morning, leaving users unable to make purchases, process downloads or access cloud services.

Users in the United States, Switzerland, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom were affected.

Outages for the affected services began at about 5 a.m.. App Store, iTunes Store, Mac App Store and iBook Store services were still “unavailable for all users” hours later.

Services to iCloud Accounts and iCloud Mail were restored about 9 a.m. Complaints were filed in Apple’s support forums by users. The Twitter hash tags “#appstoredown” and “#itunesdown” helped spread the word.
