Following the events from the first film, a different family; a mother and her two sons move into a rural house that’s marked for death. When the deputy from the first film learns that this family is next in line to fall to the demon ‘Bhughul,’ he races before time to stop it and save them from the same fate.

Not a bad sequel, but still lacking in pace. Much of the film is relegated to Shannyn Sossamon, as the mom and James Ransone, as the deputy exchanging glances and screams.

The film has a few good scares uses gore as if it were a soundtrack. But in the end most of the film is just basically someone jumping out at you yelling “boo.”

Sinister 2 gets a C+ and is rated R

“Hitman: Agent 47”
Starring: Rupert Friend and Zachary Quinto

An elite assassin who was genetically engineered to be the perfect killing machine is known only by the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. In an effort to find out is past, he teams with a young woman and confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe.

A high body count, gratuitous comic book violence may sound cool, but the film is just confusing and pedestrian.

A forgettable script populated with really a lot of bloody, violence with such a small pay-off at the end, this journey isn’t worth even the first step.

“Hitman: Agent 47” gets a D and is rated R.

“American Ultra”
Starring: Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart
