Blake Lively Fights Off Deadly Shark In Second Trailer For ‘The Shallows’

LOS ANGELES, May 4 (UPI) — Blake Lively is stranded off in the deep end with a deadly shark in the second trailer for Sony Pictures upcoming thriller, “The Shallows.”

The clip released Wednesday, features Lively as an experienced surfer who has just found the perfect spot to catch some waves.

While enjoying her time under the sun, she is suddenly attacked from below by an unforgiving shark who begins systematically taking out the other surfers in the ocean. As she desperately swims to safety, she is left stranded on small rock in the middle of the ocean with the shark awaiting her next move.

“When Nancy (Lively) is surfing on a secluded beach, she finds herself on the feeding ground of a great white shark. Though she is stranded only 200 yards from shore, survival proves to be the ultimate test of wills, requiring all of Nancy’s ingenuity, resourcefulness, and fortitude,” read’s the film’s official synopsis.

Directed by “House of Wax” helmer Jaume Collet-Serra, “The Shallows” opens in theaters June 29.
