LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8 (UPI) — Former Full House actress Candace Cameron Bure asked for support against negative comments by “mean” liberal viewers ahead of her first day on set at “The View.”
In a post on her personal Facebook page Monday night, Bure, 39, urged friends and family to send encouraging messages over social media as they tune in to the ABC talk show.
“Please encourage me if you watch the show,” she implored her online community. “Please tag “The View” on your social media outlets if you have anything kind to say about me or my viewpoint.
The majority of the feedback I get from”The View” audience is from liberals (whom I love) but are mean, hateful and downright nasty toward me.”
“Its incredibly disheartening to read,” Bure continued. “And while I know I have the support of many, most of those supporters don’t vocalize it on social media. So all I read and “The View” hears are the negative and discouraging comments i’m tagged to call me a vile, disgusting, worthless and bigoted human being.”
Bure asked her supporters not to stand by the wayside during heated social media debates. “Be a voice,” she said. “If not for me, but for a show like this so they can hear more than one point of view! If we don’t speak up, they’ll never know.”
The soon-to-be Fuller House star signed on to be a regular co-host with”The View” after popping in to guest-host during its 18th season. She joins Joy Behar, Paula Faris, Whoopi Goldberg, Raven-Symone and Michelle Collins at this season’s table.
