Sept. 20 (UPI) — Christian Siriano recently teamed with Barbie on a one-of-a kind, body-positive doll collection.
The 31-year-old fashion designer designed new dolls inspired by looks he created for “Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland, “Ghostbusters” actress Leslie Jones, singer Solange Knowles and actress Laura Osnes.
“Introducing our series of one-of-a-kind looks by @csiriano, inspired by his iconic red carpet moments,” the Barbie official Instagram account wrote. “Through his inclusive and diverse designs, Siriano has become known for embracing body positivity and celebrating role models.”
The collection includes the white top and pink skirt Hyland wore to the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards and the red dress Jones wore to the Los Angeles premiere of Ghostbusters. In addition, one doll sports a dress from Siriano’s Resort 2018 collection.
“Barbie has always been a huge inspiration to me and I’m honored to be teaming up with this iconic brand,” the designer said in a press release.
“It’s especially exciting to be designing an array of inclusive and diverse doll looks that can allow girls to see themselves better represented when they play,” he added. “It was incredible to recreate iconic red carpet moments and dress my latest muse, Barbie, in a new look from my Resort 2018 collection.”
Jones was on hand to support Siriano at his New York Fashion Week show this month. The actress was seen cheering from the front row as people of different sizes and ethnicities modeled Siriano’s new collection.
“It’s a very diverse runway today,” the designer told E! News at the time. “We have boys. We have trans. We have curvy. We have everything. As my t-shirt says, we all grow in the same garden, and I really wanted to bring that today.”
