LONDON, Nov. 4 (UPI) — BBC Two’s upcoming documentary about the final years of David Bowie‘s life is set to air in January and coincide with the late singer’s 70th birthday.
“David Bowie: The Last Five Years” is the follow-up to director Francis Whatley’s 2013 film, “David Bowie: Five Years,” and will feature Bowie’s last three projects — albums “The Next Day” and “Blackstar,” and the musical “Lazarus.”
“This new piece will feature a wealth of rare and unseen archive footage and early audio interviews which have never been released before,” the BBC said in a statement. “This includes the original vocal which Bowie recorded for Lazarus, his last release before his death, which has never been heard before.”
The film is scheduled to air in January as a celebration of what would have been the legendary singer’s 70th birthday.
Bowie died of liver cancer on January 10.
