May 4 (UPI) — “Girl Meets World” Season 4 would have focused on the power of love and friendship.
Series creator Michael Jacobs detailed the season Thursday on Twitter after announcing he wasn’t able to find a new network for the Disney Channel sitcom.
“Season 4 would’ve shown that what drew Farkle, Lucas and Zay to Riley and Maya was the deep friendship and respect they had for each other,” Jacobs wrote on the Girl Meets Writers Twitter account.
“Their relationship was the guide in how to meet the world,” he wrote. “Especially our current world. Because to find love, friendship and respect must be at the center of it. Cory and Topanga always knew that. So, as you all meet this world, we wish you friendship, respect and love.”
“Oh, and Auggie and Ava were forever,” the producer added. “All of us at BMW and GMW have loved bringing you these stories. We hope we have taught you to dream, try and do good. Class dismissed.”
“Girl Meets World,” a spinoff sequel series to “Boy Meets World,” was canceled in January after three seasons. Jacobs broke the news to fans Wednesday that the sitcom won’t return in any capacity.
“I wasn’t able to find a new venue for the show,” he tweeted. “I’m sorry. We brought our best and hope we made you think and feel. Until next time. Thanks.”
“Girl Meets World” starred Rowan Blanchard as Riley Matthews, the daughter of “Boy Meets World” characters Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel). The series followed Riley and best friend Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter) as they navigated teenage life.
