Green Light For “Frozen” Sequel
LOS ANGELES, March 12, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) Bob Iger made the announcement at the annual Disney Shareholder meeting, that the sequel to “Frozen” has been green lit. Iger told the shareholders the first film’s co-directors, Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, will both be involved in the next film.
Released in 2013, “Frozen” broke box office records both in the U.S. and in Japan when it debuted in November.
The Oscar-winning animated film has grossed slightly over $400 million domestically and took in $873.4 million internationally. It’s worldwide take of over $1.2 billion.
The film also spawned a highly successful merchandising line and has a stage version currently in development.
