LOS ANGELES, Dec. 29 (UPI) — Gwyneth Paltrow says ex-husband Chris Martin “would take a bullet” for her despite their split.

The 44-year-old actress discussed her close relationship with the 39-year-old Coldplay frontman in the February issue of InStyle.

“He’s at my house every single day,” Paltrow told the magazine. “We have our own lives but we still have our family life.”

“To this day, Chris would take a bullet for me, even though I’m not his wife,” she said. “I honestly think Chris and I have contributed something positive to the culture of divorce.”

Paltrow and Martin finalized their divorce in July after announcing their split in 2014 after more than 10 years of marriage. The actress famously described their separation on her lifestyle website, Goop, as a “conscious uncoupling.”

“It was an incredibly personal statement,” she reflected in a September interview with LinkedIn. “At that time, Goop wasn’t the size that it is now. There were a lot less people. It was a very, very personal project for a long time, and I wrote in first person all the time.”

“It was such a difficult time in my life and I was trying so hard to protect my children and my family, Chris included,” the star added. “To me, it felt like this is a quiet way to do this and it’s contained. I didn’t anticipate that fallout.”

Paltrow and Martin share 12-year-old daughter Apple and 10-year-old son Moses. The actress previously told Red that she and Martin have “really done the best that [they] can” to remain friendly and co-parent their children.

“We loved each other very much, ad we still do love each other, and we have these two beautiful children together,” she explained. “When we said we’re going to put the children first, we meant [it].”
