SYDNEY , March 11 (UPI) — Hollywood film star Johnny Depp has hurt his hand while he was in Australia to work on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Neither the nature nor the cause of the injury were immediately known, however The Wrap said the actor is returning to the United States to undergo surgery to treat it.

Depp was not on the adventure film’s set at the time of the mishap and production is expected to only be “minimally impacted,” the report said.

The movie remains scheduled for release July 7, 2017.
