LOS ANGELES – October 9, 2015 — (UPI) — “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” released a first teaser trailer Friday.
The preview introduces English actress Lily James as proper lady Elizabeth Bennet before seeing the character take on hordes of the undead. Suki Waterhouse and Bella Heathcoate co-star as Jane and Kitty Bennet, with Sam Riley as Mr. Darcy.
The movie is adapted from the Seth Grahame-Smith book of the same name, which itself is based on the Jane Austen classic. The parody novel follows the story’s traditional romantic plot line, but set against the backdrop of zombie-infested England.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies opens in theaters Feb. 5, 2016. Matt Smith and Jack Huston also star as Mr. Collins and Mr. Wickham, with Ellie Bamber and Millie Brady as Lydia and Mary Bennet, and additional roles by Lena Heady and Charles Dance.
James is best known for playing Lady Rose MacClare on ITV series ‘Downton Abbey,’ and ‘Cinderella’ in Disney’s recent live-action adaptation. Riley portrayed Ian Curtis in the biopic Control and Diaval in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty movie ‘Maleficent.’
