PASADENA, Calif., Aug. 20 (UPI) — Matt Damon updated fans on friend and frequent collaborator Ben Affleck this week.
The 44-year-old actor discussed the 43-year-old star at The Martian press junket in Pasadena, Calif. Affleck and his wife of 10 years, Jennifer Garner, announced they will divorce in June, and Damon revealed his friend is doing well despite the news.
“He’s good,” the actor told Entertainment Tonight. “I think marriage is insane. It’s a crazy idea, but I love being married to my wife. I wouldn’t tell anybody else about their relationship. I’m lucky I found my wife. I guess, maybe, if there’s any secret it’s that — it’s to feel lucky.”
“So much of it is out of your hands,” he said of marrying the right person. “I mean, I just had that conversation with my father this weekend. He said the same thing to me. He said it’s God’s grace, is what he said. Because you just don’t get lucky.”
Damon previously insisted Affleck is doing “great” at the duo’s Project Greenlight premiere this month. The actor himself married Luciana Barroso in December 2005, and shares three daughters, Isabella, Gia and Stella, with his wife in addition to Alexia from her previous marriage.
Affleck and Garner are parents to 9-year-old Violet, 6-year-old Seraphina and 3-year-old Samuel, and were spotted with their children at Universal Orlando over the weekend. The family visited the theme park to celebrate the actor’s 43rd birthday.
