June 9 (UPI) — New Line Cinema has picked up a holiday musical comedy starring Melissa McCarthy about the wife of Santa Claus titled, “Margie Claus.”

The film, which will be the comedian’s musical debut, will follow Mrs. Claus as she puts together a rescue team to find her missing husband on Christmas Eve in an attempt to save the holiday, noted The Hollywood Reporter.

McCarthy is producing the film alongside her husband and frequent collaborator Ben Falcone who is also directing. Falcone is co-writing the script alongside Damon Jones, the co-creator of USA network series “Benched.”
