NEW YORK, Sept. 12 (UPI) — “Saturday Night Live” has added three new cast members for Season 42.

Mikey Day, Alex Moffat and Melissa Villasenor will be featured players for the season set to begin Oct. 1. Created and executive produced by Lorne Michaels, the program airs on NBC.

“Welcome to the cast @mikeyfuntime, Alex Moffat and Melissa Villaseñor!” the show’s official Twitter account said Monday.

The news comes after ‘SNL’ cast members Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah exited the iconic, sketch-comedy series at the end of Season 41 to pursue pilots for their own series on Showtime.
