AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 3 (UPI) — Zooey Deschanel and husband Jacob Pechenik welcomed their first child together last week, a girl, the actress’ rep said.
The “New Girl” star gave birth in late July in Austin, Texas, where Pechenik works as a movie producer, Page Six reported.
“I am thrilled to confirm that Zooey Deschanel and her husband, Jacob Pechenik, are new parents to a beautiful healthy baby girl,” the rep said in a statement to Us Weekly.
Deschanel, 35, and Pechenik, 42, began dating last year after meeting on a movie project. The two announced their pregnancy in January and they secretly wed June 21 in Texas.
The couple had kept the baby’s gender a secret throughout Deschanel’s pregnancy.
