CLEARFIELD, Utah, Oct. 23, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A two-alarm fire destroyed a home in Clearfield on Saturday night, but there were no injuries to people or pets.

North Davis Fire District spokesman Mark Sessions said the call came in at about 11:36 p.m. reporting a fire at a twin-home at 431 W. 100 North.

Firefighters from North Davis, Layton, Syracuse, Clinton and Sunset responded and found the home’s garage and bedrooms above the garage engulfed in flames. Three vehicles were also on the property and were destroyed in the blaze.

Sessions told Gephardt Daily it took approximately three hours to extinguish the fire, partly because of the vehicles involved.

Three teenagers and “a couple of dogs” had been in the home, Sessions said, but they were all safely evacuated before firefighters arrived.

The home and vehicles are likely a total loss, with damage estimated at $200,000, Sessions said.

The American Red Cross was on hand to offer assistance to the displaced occupants, and the family will be staying with relatives in the area.

The adjoining twin-home was not damaged, Sessions said.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
