23-year-old Magna motorcyclist killed in early morning crash on I-215

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 8, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Highway Patrol says a 23-year-old Magna man was killed early Saturday morning after being thrown from his bullet bike while turning onto I-215 West from 3500 South.

UHP investigators told Gephardt Daily that at about 3:10 a.m., Joshua G. Buckway was attempting to negotiate a curve when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck the median.

Troopers say Buckway was catapulted into the number three lane of I-215 West where he was immediately struck by a passing SUV.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Buckway was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the accident.
