SMITHFIELD, Utah, Oct. 29, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A four-car collision in Smithfield sent five people to the hospital Friday.

The call came in at 7 p.m. of a traffic accident involving the four vehicles, two of which had severe damage.

Officers responded to the area of 850 S. Main (U.S 91), which is where the speed limit decreases from 55 to 45 miles per hour.

One victim remains in critical condition, but the four others were treated and have since been released, according to a statement released Saturday afternoon by the Smithfield City Police Department.

Police believe speed was a factor in the crash.
