Better Homes and Gardens Honors Smith’s Ballpark

smithsballparkSALT LAKE CITY, UTAH  – April 22, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Better Homes and Gardens has placed Smith’s Ballpark, the home of the Salt Lake Bees, among the magazine’s “10 Best Ballparks,” joining the company of famed Wrigley Field and Fenway Park. The article in the May issue judged stadiums on their beauty, ability to cater to families and available food options.

Smith’s Ballpark ranked eighth on the list and is one of only two Minor League stadiums to be included. In order, the stadiums listed are Wrigley Field in Chicago, Petco Park in San Diego, Safeco Field in Seattle, Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Smith’s Ballpark in Salt Lake City, Miller Park in Milwaukee and Fenway Park in Boston.

According to the magazine, the Bees and Smith’s Ballpark were chosen in part for the view of the Wasatch Mountains visible from the seats; the kid friendly activities such as the Bumble Express train along the outfield walkway; and the ease of access to public transit via TRAX.

“We have always said that it is better at the ballpark and we are honored that Better Homes and Gardens agrees,” said Bees General Manger Marc Amicone.

Better Homes and Gardens sells more than 7.6 million copies each month, making it the nation’s second largest magazine in paid circulation.

The Salt Lake Bees continue their opening homestand at Smith’s Ballpark with four games against the Fresno Grizzlies Tuesday through Friday with all games scheduled for first pitch at 6:35 p.m. The team will celebrate Beard Appreciation Night on Friday, April 24, complete with a bearded beanie giveaway at the gates. Tickets and additional details about the team and promotions are available at www.slbees.com.
