Two children injured in Magna house fire

MAGNA, Utah, May 14, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Two children were injured in an early morning fire in Magna Sunday.

Unified firefighters were first called to the scene at 3193 S. Montclair St. around 2:45 a.m.

When they arrived they found heavy smoke pouring from the basement windows.

Two young children were pulled from the home by their parents suffering smoke inhalation.

One child was flown by medical helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital.

The other was transported by ground ambulance.

At least two pets died in the fire, while three others were rescued by family members.

Members of the arson squad, along with investigators from the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms were called to the scene, although firefighters told Gephardt Daily there were no indications of foul play.
