ALTA, Utah, Oct. 12, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified a 41-year-old man killed in an industrial accident in Alta, home of the Alta ski resort, up Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Unified Police Department spokesman Lt. Brian Lohrke said Wednesday evening the deceased is Kasey Christiansen, of Price.

According to preliminary information from the UPD, Christiansen was ejected from an excavator as it rolled. A UPD Twitter post said the agency will be assisting the Alta Marshal in an investigation.

Lohrke tweeted that he will release more information after consulting with the marshal and the Utah Department of Transportation.

Christiansen was a contract employee working on a UDOT project who was installing avalanche control equipment.
