WEST JORDAN, UTAH – September 4, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A 56-year-old man is dead and a woman injured after a two-car collision Friday on Mountain View Corridor.
According to Sgt. Joe Monson of West Jordan Police, the driver of northbound BMW collided with an eastbound Dodge van at the intersection of Mountain View and 9000 South just before noon.
Police say 56-year-old Michael Burkman, of Herriman, diver of the BMW, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van was not seriously injured.
Crash scene investigators say it’s still too early to know who was responsible for the crash.
Drivers are being asked to stay out of the area if at all possible.
Police say it will be several hours before Mountain View reopens to traffic near the intersection.
