OGDEN, Utah, Nov. 26, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — The Ogden City Police Department has released detailed information on the safe recovery of a 13-year-old girl whose reported abduction by a registered sex offender triggered an Amber Alert Wednesday afternoon.

According to an OCPD news release, the child was located about 7 p.m. by sheriff deputies in Larimer County, Colorado. Deputies also “successfully located and apprehended” Christopher Thomas Wiggins, 33.

The 13-year-old — whose name is now being withheld by Gephardt Daily to protect her privacy — “was located safely, and her family has been notified,” the news release said.

Federal and local victim services are being coordinated to support the child at her location in Fort Collins, Colorado, OCPD reported.

“The Ogden Police Major Crimes Bureau is actively working with federal partners and multiple law enforcement agencies in Colorado as we move into the next phase of this investigation. The extent of criminal charges has not yet been determined.”

OCPD thanked the public, extending its “sincere gratitude” for “the many tips, shares, and information submitted throughout the day,” saying the child’s “safety and well-being” was their highest priority, and they were “grateful for this positive outcome.

“We also express our appreciation to our partner agencies in Colorado for their swift response and assistance in taking Wiggins into custody.”

Ogden Police Chief Jake Sube released a statement, saying, “When incidents like this occur, the Ogden Police Department will relentlessly pursue those who threaten the safety of our residents, especially our children. Our officers will leverage every available tool and resource to track down offenders and bring them to justice. With the suspect now in custody, we will work closely with prosecutors to ensure the case is pursued to the fullest extent of the law,” Sube said.

“I want to thank our community for its vigilance in rapidly sharing information across Utah and neighboring states. I am also grateful to our partnering law enforcement agencies whose support was critical in bringing this case to a successful and safe conclusion.”

No further information will be released at this time, as the investigation remains ongoing, the OCPD statement said.
