ST. GEORGE, Utah, Feb. 11, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — The Washington County Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday that it has filed a first-degree felony rape charge against 21-year-old Parker Trent Kingston.
Kingston, a Roy High graduate, was Brigham Young University football’s leading receiver last season, with 66 receptions for 924 yards and five touchdowns. He was expected to be the team’s top wide receiver in the coming season.
The Washington County Attorney’s Office said in a news release that the charge follows a rape investigation that began nearly a year ago, on Feb. 23, 2025. Detectives collected forensic evidence and conducted interviews with the victim and witnesses, the statement says.
The evidence was turned over to the Washington County Attorney’s Office for review.
“Kingston has been taken into custody and is currently being held in Washington County without bail,” the release says. Kingston’s initial court appearance is set for 1:30 p.m. Friday in Utah’s Fifth Judicial District Court.
“The Washington County Attorney’s Office takes allegations of sexual assault seriously,” the release says. “We thank the medical professionals and law enforcement officers who assisted with this investigation for their partnership and professionalism.”
The department asked members of the public to have additional information related to the case to call the Washington County Attorney’s Office at 435-301-7100.
Brigham Young University, contacted for statement, shared the following:
“BYU became aware today of the arrest of Parker Kingston. The university takes any allegation very seriously, and will cooperate with law enforcement. Due to federal and university privacy laws and practices for students, the university will not be able to provide additional comment.”
Gephardt Daily will share additional information after an arrest document becomes available.
