CEDAR CITY, Utah, Jan. 12, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Cedar City are asking for the public’s help after a string of thefts at the city cemetery.

The Cedar City Police Department said in a Facebook post it also is investigating vandalism that occurred at the Cedar City Cemetery over the past few months.

“It is disheartening to know that there are those in our community who would steal small mementos from a grave or break flower vases and other similar items placed there by a grieving family,” the post said.

“Unfortunately, this is a sad reality. Despite our increased patrols and efforts to identify the perpetrators, we have no leads.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Cedar City Police Department at 435-586-2956.
