Crews battle residential roof fire in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah, Jan. 11, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews battled a residential roof fire in Ogden Monday morning.

The fire broke out in the area of 655 23rd St. at approximately 9:20 a.m.

The calling party reported light smoke coming from the ceiling inside.

“Crews quickly mitigate fire conditions,” said a news release from Ogden Fire Department. “The fire appears to have started in a wall and moved to the attic. Fire was contained to this area.”

The fire was brought under control in about 10 minutes.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Damage is estimated at $20,000 at this time.

A total of 17 firefighters from Ogden City and Roy Fire departments responded with three engines, one ladder truck, one rescue truck, two ambulances, one deputy fire marshal and the battalion chief.
