Crews fight grass fire at Ensign Peak Park

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 19, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City crews battled a grass fire at Ensign Peak Park overnight.

“SLC fire made a great stop!” said a tweet from Salt Lake City Fire Department. “Grass fire under control on Ensign Peak Park; reported 3 a.m. Approximately three to five acres.”

There were no injuries and no homes or structures were threatened, the tweet said.

The fire is under investigation; it is suspected it was started by fireworks.

Ensign Peak Park is north of the Utah State Capitol building.
