Crews respond to 5-acre grass fire in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah, July 17, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Fire crews responded to the scene of a grass fire Monday afternoon at 2767 Industrial Drive.

According to Ogden Fire Department, crews were dispatched at 3:21 p.m. after multiple small grass fires broke out in the area. The fire extended down the ditch to Midland Drive and traffic was blocked at 1900 West and 2550 South.

Thirteen firefighters from Ogden and Roy fire departments were on scene, with one ladder truck, one engine, two brush trucks and one ambulance.

Ogden Fire Department tweeted that crews made significant progress in extinguishing the fire, performing overhaul and putting out hot spots.

Once it was extinguished, the total size of the fire was estimated at five acres. No structures were damaged, and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
