TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 27, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Three people killed in two separate rollover crashes on I-80 in Tooele County early Saturday morning have been identified.

Cristina Castro-Salazar, 23, from Wendover, and Lashaey Wright, 24, from West Wendover, Nevada, died in the first accident at approximately 4 a.m. near mile marker 59.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Lt. Shawn Judd told Gephardt Daily that according to investigators, a westbound SUV with five people inside drifted off the right side of the road before the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross the median and roll through the eastbound lanes of traffic.

An adult female and a 3-year-old girl were ejected in the crash. The adult female was pronounced dead at the scene, and the toddler was flown to a hospital in “very critical” condition, along with three other adults who had not been ejected. Another adult female died later at the hospital.

Information from the UHP indicates alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident, and that only those in the front were wearing seat belts.

Troopers were responding to the initial crash when they saw a cloud of dust rising above the highway several miles ahead of them. When they arrived at the second accident site, they found a black SUV lying on its roof with a deceased male lying outside the vehicle. Three others inside the SUV were hurt, but their injuries were not considered life threatening.

The Utah Highway Patrol has identified the dead man as Eddy Robles-Cordova, 40, of West Valley City.

Investigators said it looked as though the SUV was westbound on I-80 when it drifted off the roadway before the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll. Troopers said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
