Driver Going The Wrong Way Dies in I-215 Crash

UPDATE: March 27, 2015 – Police say that 27-year-old South Jordan resident Michael Mcmillian died today as a result of his injuries.

MIDVALE, UT, March 26, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — A 22-year-old woman died and a man in the other car was very critically injured when a car traveling the wrong way on I-215 crashed, Utah Highway Patrol said.

Troopers saw a car headed southbound in a northbound lane of I-15 near 5300 South around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, UHP said. The car then continued going east in the westbound lanes south belt of I-215 near Midvale. It crashed head-on into another vehicle near 1700 East, according to UHP.

Chanel S. Nielsen, of Sandy, 22, died at the scene, UHP said.  The 27-year-old man from South Jordan in the other vehicle was taken to Intermountain Medical Center.

UHP said everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.I2151
