RIVERTON, UTAH – October 13, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Unified Police are searching for a man who crashed his car into a pole and ran from officers Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Ben Bolduc said it appears the vehicle was registered to the Murray resident, and it’s unclear at this time why he ran. There is no indication at this point that he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Unified Police spokesman Sgt. Ben Bolduc said a UHP trooper noticed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on 1300 West around 11 a.m. and turned around to investigate. “When the driver realized the trooper had turned around, he took off, at a higher rate of speed, tried to negotiate a left turn and collided with a pole,” Bolduc said. “The driver ran and we were not able to locate him.”

The crash happened at 12300 South and 1300 West, Riverton, and the vehicle was travelling northbound. The driver is described as a white male, heavyset with bushy brown hair.
