DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 31, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Firefighters and deputies responded to the scene of an oil field fire north of Duchesne on Thursday morning.

Crews have managed to bring the fire under control, an updated news release from the Duchesne County Sheriff Department says.

“There are no longer any visible flames at the site, which is located near 6000 South and 19000 West,” a 12:15 p.m. statement says.

The first statement, released at 11:25 a.m., said the owner of a nearby home had been evacuated.

“The homeowner who was advised to leave their home as a precaution due to a fire at a nearby oilfield location has been allowed to return home, according to Duchesne County Fire and Emergency Management Director Mike Lefler,” the new statement says.

“Firefighters from Duchesne and Altamont are working to extinguish pockets of residual heat at an oilfield location north of Duchesne that caught fire earlier today.”

No injuries were reported, the statement says. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
