UINTAH COUNTY, Utah, Dec. 31, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Federal authorities are investigating after a 55-year old Vernal man was shot and killed on the Uintah and Ouray Reservation Saturday evening.
FBI Salt Lake City spokeswoman Sandra Yi Barker said the incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m.
A 36-year old man, a member of the Ute Indian Tribe, is in tribal custody.
The FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs are investigating.
“Due to the ongoing nature of the case, no other information will be released at this time,” Barker said by way of a news release.
