NEW: Driver Critically Injured In Redwood Road Crash

WEST JORDAN, Utah, Jan. 8, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A Friday morning wreck on Redwood Road at 8500 South has left one person in critical condition.

West Jordan Police officer Scott List said that at 6:40 a.m, a white truck traveling north on Redwood Road at 8500 South and collided with a red passenger car that was facing west in the middle of the road.

“We are not sure at this time why he was facing west,” List said. “We don’t know if the car was headed out from somewhere or was making a U-turn. We are still trying to investigate that part.”

The impact of the collision forced the truck to roll onto its side, and scatter debris across all east and westbound lanes of Redwood Road.

List said the 26-year-old male driver of the car was taken by ground ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. He was in critical condition with life-threatening injuries

The 41-year-old male driver of the of the truck was not injured.

Redwood Road was closed for several hours but has since re-opened.
