DRAPER, Utah, May 16, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — An inmate at Utah State Prison was injured after being “slashed” by another inmate Thursday evening.
Utah Department of Corrections spokesman Liam Truchard told Gephardt Daily the incident occurred in the Uinta facility, which houses maximum security units for male inmates, at approximately 8:45 p.m.
“We had an incident in our Uinta facility tonight where one inmate attempted to slash another inmate,” Truchard said. “One inmate suffered non life-threatening slash wounds.”
It’s not known at this stage what type of weapon was used in the attack, Truchard said.
