Logan Man Dies in Fatal Crash After Hitting Rock Wall
LOGAN CANYON, UTAH -APRIL 22, 2015 (GEPHARDT DAILY) – Logan man dies after he crossed through the southbound lanes on Sr 89 in Garden City and went off the roadway and straight into a rock wall.
On Tuesday, April 21, around midnight a 1995 Honda Accord was traveling northbound going toward Garden City at a high rate of speed in an area where the road curves to the right passing through a rock cut out on a downhill grade.
The vehicle did not attempt to take the curve and ended up hitting the rock wall where  the driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. The vehicle then continued to travel up the rock wall almost reaching the top before curving back down and coming to rest on its top.
The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Matthew T Anderson  from Logan. It was later learned that the vehicle he was driving and Matthew had been broadcast as an Attempt to Locate (ATL) out of Logan for a welfare check.
A call was received by law enforcement with concerns about the driver and his safety after he had called someone prior to the crash. Alcohol, speed and possible attempt to harm himself are all currently being investigated.
