Man arrested after allegedly groping 14-year-old waitress in Fillmore restaurant

FILLMORE, Utah, Jan. 29, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly groped a 14-year-old waitress multiple times in a Fillmore restaurant.

A probable cause statement from the 4th District Court in Fillmore said Craig Bruce Parsons, 64, is facing charges of second-degree felony sexual abuse of a child, class A misdemeanor carrying a concealed loaded firearm and class B misdemeanor carrying a concealed firearm.

The probable cause statement said that two deputies were dispatched to the Paradise Restaurant located at 915 North Main St. in Fillmore.

“It was reported that a male subject who was later identified as Craig Bruce Parsons had touched one of the waitresses on the buttocks,” the statement said.

The deputies made contact with Parsons inside the restaurant and had him step outside to talk with them. The suspect remained with one deputy while the other talked to the victim, who informed the officer that she was only 14 years old.

“The victim and a witness informed me that the victim was listening to Parsons’ music on his headphones when he approached her and touched her on her buttocks three times,” the arresting officer wrote in the statement. “This was also observed by another juvenile witness.”

While Parsons was being escorted out of the restaurant, the arresting officer asked him if he had any weapons on his person, and he said he did not.

The officer then placed Parsons under arrest, and once he was put in handcuffs, a pat search was conducted of him.

“In his right coat pocket, I located a loaded pistol,” the statement said. “There was also a fixed blade knife located on his side with a six inch blade.”

Parsons was booked into the Millard County Jail with his bail set at $13,180.
