Update: Man dead after blunt-force trauma accident at Snowbird Resort identified

SNOWBIRD, Utah, May 3, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Unified Police Department has identified a man who suffered blunt-force trauma Wednesday morning at Snowbird Resort and who died as Daryl Norton.

Norton, 54, was found with obvious blunt-force trauma to his chest. A ski patrol member found Norton at about 10 a.m., according to information from the Unified Police Department. He was found on Chips Run, and was alone and unresponsive.

It is not known how long Norton was down. The Unified Police Department has said it is also unknown whether the blunt-force trauma directly caused Norton’s death, or whether a medical incident caused both the fall and his death.

Norton was transported by medical helicopter at 10:28 a.m., and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Norton was was an experienced skier from the Salt Lake City area, according to UPD information.
