NORTH OGDEN, Utah, Dec. 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man is being booked into the Weber County Jail after the Weber County Sheriff’s Office arrested him on suspicion of kidnapping a woman.

A 911 call came to Weber Dispatch at 4:08 a.m. Friday, according to a Weber County Sheriff’s Office news statement. It was from a woman traveling in a vehicle who said she had been kidnapped.

“The female didn’t not know her current location, or have any information about the vehicle or the suspect,” the WCSO statement says.

“The female also stated the suspect was armed with a gun. Weber Dispatch received information regarding the phone’s location from the 911 call which put the phone in the area of Ogden Canyon.”

A deputy responded to the area of Ogden Canyon and observed a vehicle traveling east through the canyon which was consistent with the time frame of the 911 call.

“The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the vehicle failed to yield and a chase ensued,” the statement says. “The chase continued into the Ogden Valley area, where it was terminated, because the female passenger was attempting to jump out of the moving vehicle.

“North Ogden Police set up in the area of the North Ogden Divide where they picked up the vehicle heading into their jurisdiction. North Ogden officers attempted to stop the vehicle, and again it fled. The vehicle then crashed in the area of 3900 N. and 450 E. in North Ogden where the suspect was taken into custody.”

The suspect is 28-year-old Kenley Lemaster. The statement said he will be booked into jail on charges to include kidnapping, evading, DUI, possession of a controlled substance and other traffic violations.

“The victim was not injured during the incident,” the WCSO statement says. “More charges may be added by assisting agencies.”

Gephardt Daily will add more details when they are available.

  1. It was a Pleasant View officer who stopped him by pulling in front of him. He should be recognized for putting his life in danger!
