PAYSON, UTAH – June 15, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — A fast moving house fire has claimed the life of a Payson, Utah man.

According to Payson Fire and Rescue, James McKinley, age 65, died Monday afternoon when a fire broke out at his home near 590 E. 600 South.

Firefighters were called to the scene around 3 p.m. When they arrived they found the home engulfed in flames.

Three other people, including McKinley’s fiance, lived at the residence, but none of them were home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the blaze has yet to be determined, although investigators say oxygen tanks inside the home may have played a role. Their investigation is ongoing.
