Motorcyclist dead after Herriman collision with semi-truck

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 8, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A motorcycle rider died in a crash with a semi-truck Monday morning on 12600 South and Mountain View Corridor (UT-85) in Herriman.

Both drivers were westbound on 12600 South at about 6:46 a.m. Monday when the motorcycle drove in front of the semi, and was struck, according to Officer Jennifer Fairbanks, Herriman Police Department.

The motorcyclist is believed to be 40 or 41, Fairbanks said. He was wearing a helmet, but died on scene. His name has not been released.

The semi driver is believed to be 70 or 71. He showed no signs of impairment, and is cooperating with police.

The roadway was closed during the on-scene investigation, and has now reopened.
