Multi-vehicle crash in Layton closes portions of U.S. Highway 89

LAYTON, Utah, April 7, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A multi-vehicle crash has closed down parts of U.S. Highway 89 in Layton.

Layton Fire Department tweeted Sunday at 1:30 p.m.: “Large multi-vehicle, injury accident Hwy 89 in both directions. Avoid the area if at all possible!”

A tweet from the Utah Department of Transportation said the crash is on southbound U.S. Highway 89 at mile post 401, which is approximately 100 North.

It’s not clear at this early stage how many people have been injured or the extent of their injuries.

Officials also did not say how many lanes are shut down or when they are expected to reopen.
