MORGAN COUNTY, OGDEN, Utah, June 21, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — Downed power lines and wind combined last night to spread grass fires in Morgan County.

At about 10 p.m., Mountain Green Fire volunteers responded to assist Morgan County Fire & EMS crews at two grass fires caused by downed power lines, says a Mountain Green Fire news release.

One of the fires quickly grew to about an acre, and jumped the river.

“A second alarm was called, and additional resources quickly contained the two separate fires near the sewer plant and the electrical substation on Island Road,” the release says.
