SPRINGDALE, Utah, July 19, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — The O.C. Tanner Amphitheater in Springdale will close for six to eight months after recent flooding, officials said Monday.

“We are so sorry to announce that the Tanner is closing immediately for much-needed repairs following the flash flooding in Springdale earlier this month,” said a Facebook post Monday early evening. “Events have either been relocated or cancelled. Please visit our website for the latest updates and contact information regarding your event.”

The post added: “The recent flash flood in July caused damage to the structure and surrounding area of the O.C. Tanner Amphitheater. As an extension of Dixie State University, the damage has been evaluated by a state assessor and the amphitheater will be closed for repair for an estimated six to eight months.”

The Facebook post added the amphitheater will not close permanently but hopes to open in time for the 2022 season.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
