Officer Involved Shootings and Use of Force Training to be Held in West Jordan
WEST JORDAN, UTAH June 12, 2015 (Gepahrdt Daily) – West Jordan Police, in an effort to bring knowledge to their investigators about the scientifically valid explanations as to how and why people act and react to threats, especially as related to law enforcement, are bringing a specialized, world-class training for the first time to Utah June 15-19, 2015.
The West Jordan Police Department has long recognized the need to get the best training available for their investigators. Even before the local and national incidents where officers have used deadly force, and been so dramatically scrutinized, they knew there was a need.
The West Jordan City Council consented to Chief Doug Diamond’s request to sponsor their own class here rather than waiting to get their investigators into this extremely popular course.
The Force Science Institute provides groundbreaking research and lessons on the application of human science to law enforcement professionals.
Renowned experts whose goal is to increase the understanding of force encounters through science and research will be the instructors.
