WASHINGTON TERRACE, Nov. 6, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials are on the lookout for a man who reportedly pulled a gun on his parents during a domestic dispute in Washington Terrace on Tuesday morning.

“We call came to 911 at about 9:15 this morning,” Lt. Courtney Ryan, Weber County Sheriff, told Gephardt Daily. “It was a domestic between parents and their adult son, and he did go out to his vehicle and retrieve a firearm.”

Deputies arrived and blocked the the 27-year-old man from entering his parents’ home through the front door, Ryan said. The man continued to try and gain access, so deputies deployed a Taser, but it was not effective.

The man then jumped the fence and tried to access the residence from the back, but deputies ran through the house in an attempted to meet him. The man then fled on foot, and he remained at large as of 1:45 p.m.

Ryan said the man did not display the gun to police, but a handgun was located found after he fled. The man, whose name has not been released, is believed to be unarmed, thus less of a danger than he was earlier. Ryan said officials know who they are looking for, and are confident they will be able to locate the suspect.

Nearby schools were unaffected by the incident, and were not put on lockdown, Ryan said. The general public is not believed to be in danger from the suspect, he said.
