OGDEN, Utah, July 6, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — The Ogden City Police Department has confirmed that a man arrested on DUI and negligence charges after he allegedly struck pedestrians gathered to view July 4 fireworks with his truck is a former officer with the department.

Tyler Crouch, 49, was arrested for investigation of:

“On Saturday, July 4, the Ogden City Police Department responded to the area of 4400 S. Airport Road following the report of an auto-pedestrian collision,” the OCPD statement says.

“The Ogden City Police Department has received multiple media request regarding the incident and the incident of the suspect, Tyler Crouch, who was arrested in connection with the incident.

“The Ogden City Police Department previously employed Mr. Crouch from October 2009 until December 2017, when his employment was terminated. He has no affiliation with the Ogden City Police Department since his separation from employment in 2017.”

Crouch’s arrest document says he drove a 2018 GMC Sierra into a parked 2017 Dodge Charger, injuring a 28-year-old woman, her 11-year-old daughter, an 8-year-old girl, and a 10-year-old boy.

The 11-year-old girl was outside the Dodge Charger, and was pinned between it and the GMC Sierra.

All four victims were transported to local hospitals, and the 11-year-old girl was later airlifted to Primary Children’s Hospital for her critical injuries.

A GoFundMe account has identified her as a South Ogden child named Maya. To see the fundraising account, click here.
