PAYSON, Utah, Dec. 25, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Payson are looking for the driver of a Ram pickup who reportedly smashed into a car intended as a Christmas present, then fled the scene.

“We need a Christmas miracle,” says a PPD post issued at about 10 a.m. on Christmas morning.

“An unknown individual in a white newer model Ram pickup with tinted windows just crashed into a young lady’s surprise Christmas present, parked on the street near the fire station. The truck also crashed into the residence’s front yard.

“The individual was confronted by the homeowner and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The complainant believes the vehicle had Idaho plates.”

“If you know who this may be based on that fresh new damage on your neighbors, friend’s, or enemies driver’s side headlight and bumper drop is a hint!,” the police statement says. “Let’s find this Grinch.”
