JUAB COUNTY, Utah, April 14, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A person of interest has been taken into custody following a string of vehicle burglaries in Juab County, officials said.

Juab County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook on Thursday: “Beware Mona residents! There has been a string of vehicle burglaries reported today. From reports collected at this time it seems the west side of Mona was the hardest hit area.”

Officials asked that anyone who saw anything suspicious in their neighborhoods in Mona between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Thursday contact the Sheriff’s Office.

A follow-up post Friday said: “A person of interest has been taken into custody and is being questioned by detectives from both Juab County and Utah County. If you are a victim of these burglaries we may contact you over the next few days.”

Officials added that even though a person of interest is in custody, individuals should remember to keep vehicles and property locked up at all times.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
