UPDATE: Police Chase Dash Cam: 90 Minute Chase Started in Utah County, Ends in Magna
MAGNA, UTAH — APRIL 10, 2015 (GEPHARDT DAILY) Police say a man who is suspected of stealing a dump truck towing a trailer is now in custody after leading officers on a chase through several cities.
It appears he carjacked multiple vehicles from two different counties before leading the police on a high speed chase.
Stephen White, the identified driver of the stolen dump truck had to be stopped by police firing pepper balls into the cab of the dump truck.
The dump truck was the last of several vehicles he stole in his efforts to elude the police. White first stole a Bronco, then went to a home where he got into another van, then drove a few miles and crashed. He then stole another car before stealing the truck.
According to American Fork police, they got a call this morning at about 7:30 a.m. that a vehicle had been stolen from the Ken Garff Chevrolet state impound lot, belonging to White, 30, from Pleasant Grove. His vehicle had been impounded and he stole it back, crashing though the fence, then drove his Bronco to his home in Pleasant Grove where he allegedly got into a domestic dispute with his wife, then left that house in a van. He crashed the van and then stole another van, carjacked a man in Lehi, allegedly assualted him and slashed him across the chest with a knife and took his car, then abandoned that car and stole another vehicle. He eventually stole the dump truck in American Fork. The chase ended in Magna near 2700 South and 9800 West. He is currently in American Fork Police Department and will be booked in Utah County Jail later this afternoon.
